The development of Fast Multipole Method(FMM) and related algorithms have revolutionized, among other fields, the world of computational electromgnetics. The FMM, in particular, has made it possible analyze electromagnetic problems of unprecedented complexities.
I have been playing with FMM, and its cousins, for quite some time. I love FMM for its elegance, precision and generality. My significant contribution to the technology of FMM is ScaleME which is a scalable, distributed memory implementation of the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) for electromagnetic scattering problems.
I hope to maintain this page as a reflection of the current developments in fast algorithms in computational electromagnetics. However, since I work for Ansoft Corporation, which is a leader in electromagnetic simulation tools, due to a potential conflict of interest, I shall not be discussing my own work here.
